My Love Affair with Art and Design

My love affair with art and design began with a rainbow.

When my first daughter was born, I sewed a fabric rainbow to put over her crib.

Friends who were having children asked me to make one for them. I began designing and creating fabric sculptures of bears and birds, clouds, moons and stars.

My business flourished for many years, but I was working alone in my basement and wanted to get out into the world. I got a teaching degree, wrote many books, and published and coached.

In total I had 7 creative careers. I poured my creativity into writing and marketing my books, learning business skills along the way.

And, although I had a fine arts degree, I didn't pick up a paintbrush for 25 years.

The shift that changed everything

The pivotal moment came when my family gave me a set of watercolors for my birthday. I began taking classes again and developed into acrylics and abstracts.

All my life, I had never felt like I was doing what I was meant to do. Now I know that I am.

A quiet message of uplift

My art is about transforming the emotional temperature of the room.

The art I show today comes from finally allowing myself to step into my power as a painter, using brushstrokes and color to create ethereal, yet grounding pieces that transform the mood of a space.

I describe it as luxury art because it's created with intention, not just to decorate a room but to shift it's emotional temperature.

Designer Silvia Iraghi describes my paintings as:

"Work that carries an extraordinary sensitivity, the kind that goes beyond aesthetics. Each shade holds a vibration, a frequency, a quiet message of uplift and balance.

These paintings don’t just decorate a room; they soften overstimulation, elevate energy, and bring a sense of regulation that people can feel the moment they walk in."

Artist Statement

In a world that often feels chaotic, my paintings create sanctuaries of color and form that invite quiet contemplation.

My work is described as "ethereal and grounding."

I layer bold brushstrokes of transparent hues until something magical emerges, a shift in the atmosphere of a room, a pocket of stillness that invites you to linger, a chance to reflect and reconnect with yourself.

I'm influenced by the world around me, the floating clouds, vibrant spring blossoms, or hidden depths of a garden at dawn.
